About the project

With deep roots in European coffee culture and well-established cafés across Ontario, Balzac’s was known for the experience they created through coffee. The cafés held strong community ties with rich history and brought people together with their friends, colleagues, or with their thoughts.

With ambitions to grow nationally through grocery retail, the business could no longer rely on Ontario-based café experiences to define Balzac’s and engage people across the country.

Through research and a refreshed brand DNA we developed a “Drink it in” campaign, inviting people to immerse themselves in the beautiful moments coffee creates at home — and to savour them, just as they would when creating special moments at a café.

Using digital, social media and google shopping ads, email marketing, and SEM, we saw an increase of 381% in ecommerce sales during the 4-month period after launching the campaign.
